Reinterpreting salvaged materials 2025

Hand-built flower bricks made entirely from reclaimed clay and grog. Each flower brick is a functional yet sculptural vessel designed to hold anything from a single stem to a fuller arrangement. The clay bodies are made from fragments of my own failed tests and recycled studio waste, while the glazes draw on humble materials from my garden - soil, snail shells and wood ash.

Part of the Ground series, the bricks highlight my ongoing connection to the land - from a farm upbringing to my small city garden today. Depending on the mix of reclaimed clay and glaze ingredients, each brick will be subtly different from any other. Designed for everyday use, they hold cut flowers, foraged stems or dried arrangements.
