The Way We Eat Now

Jelly Pillars

The Holburne Museum, Bath 2016

A group show at the Holburne Museum, Bath.

In response to an eighteenth century ceramic asparagus server from the museums collection, MA ceramics students presented an exuberant table setting of playfully diverse ceramic objects. Designed to serve today’s ‘ready meals’, the works acted as tongue-in-cheek commentary on contemporary eating habits.

Taking inspiration from the museums’ architecture I created a rage of ceramic pillars made from casts of jelly tub packaging.
